The higher profile front sight is designed to fit on the rail of a lower gas block. Rear Iron Sight is adjustable for windage and elevation with a dual aperture for both long and short-range shots. These AR15 Iron Sights are Ultra-Light Weight made of All aluminum construction and designed for the bush. This forum has been immensely helpful already. The AR15 Carry Handle with Integrated Match-Grade Rear Sight matched with the Higher Profile Front Sight makes for a great look on your AR15 with the lower gas block. I'm sorry for the TL DR, wall of text post. I wanted the advice of someone who was more familiar with the platform. Due to COVID, my range has been a disaster and I've only recently found an outdoor range, which is closed currently due to high wildfire probability. I haven't shot a long gun since I was very young, and even then I was simply shooting twelve gauges to hunt fowl and rabbits. What do you all think? I'm brand new to shooting rifles. I see everyone's beautiful, free-floating AR's with hundreds of dollar optics and wonder how they could ever treat them like I'd treat a rifle in that scenario, haha. I'd like to be able to sort of retire the Ruger to the truck and maybe for bug out, hunting, "SHTF" type-scenarios. However, I do intend for this Ruger to be my "beater" gun, because I would like to build an AR of my own if the shortages/lunacy of the moment ever dies down a little bit. I am upgrading my furniture to the Magpul MOE SL kit, and have been considering running canted once I am able to make the upgrade, which would be a point for flip ups. For flip-ups, I'm looking at the Magpul MBUS Pro peep sight. I'm looking at the BCM carry handle, as well as the PSA carry handle. Because of this, essentially I will be purchasing the iron sights to train on until at least late October, and more likely late December, which is the earliest I could purchase a red dot, as well. I essentially have to spend a fair bit on parts at one time, then wait for my "next ship" to come in, so to speak. As I stated on my other posts, I'm a student, and I get my money in big chunks throughout the year - birthday, Christmas, and my Fall/Winter student loan payments - so I don't have a consistent income. But, I was wondering - how does everyone feel about carry handles? My rifle has an A2 front sight post, and I'm trying to figure out if I want to run a flip up rear sight, or grab a carry handle (which, in truth, I rather prefer the looks of). I was given the advice to learn to shoot irons before I grow dependent on an optic, and I've decided to take it.

After my two initial posts here, and the advice I've been given (thanks to everyone who has posted, by the way!), I've decided to upgrade the old AR-556 before I spring for the carry pistol/certification.
